Improving Housing in Mason County
Habitat for Humanity of Mason County is a non-profit organization that offers a hand-up in securing safe, decent, affordable housing for members of our community.
Programming includes critical home repairs that affect basic needs, such as running water, adequate heat, and a safe roof. We work solely with referrals from partner agencies to provide the more efficient process possible. We work collaboratively with other organizations to consolidate funds as much as possible in order to make funding stretch further. Homeowners are required to contribute 25% of our costs to a project. Those dollars provide owner investment as well as sustainability to the programming. Assuring homes have basic needs helps keep families together, in their home, as well as create a safer environment for those who live there.
Additional programming includes handicap ramps for accessibility barriers in and out of one's home.
Habitat for Humanity of Mason County partners with several local organizations to capitalize on the impact on the community. Our proudest collaboration is with the local veteran service agencies. We have been about to assist with a variety of housing related challenges.
